Ponta – restaurant / pizzeria is located on the famous Ponta Beach, at the entrance to the town. It offers large servings of simple but good quality food, a huge assortment of pizzas, barbecue meals and pastas.

 

Forte – For those with a more subtle palate, the young owner and chef prepares a daily menu which always includes fish and meat selections, using only fresh ingredients. A delicious stewed beef – Pašticada, grilled vegetables and fish, a selection of risotto and pasta specials, homemade brandy and bread, are served in a romantic ambience.

 

Chiringuito – a funky bar on the beach where, in addition to excellent tapas and other freshly-made finger food snacks, you can also enjoy delicious cocktails prepared after local recipes, shooters, cold beer or a glass of wine. The restaurant can also be accessed from the sea, by boat or surfboard.

 

Montun – a restaurant with interesting interior design and a casual family atmosphere. If offers grilled food, Mexican specialties, salads, and if given advanced notice, the chef can prepare grilled lamb or meat under the peka (iron bell). While waiting for your food, you can relax playing billiards or watch sporting events on a big screen.

 

Maritimo – situated in a stone house with a view of the sea, Maritimo Restaurant offers fish specialties served with home-made wine and olive oil. The food is usually prepared on the grill, but if given advanced notice, they can also prepare fish cooked á la gregada or fish in brodetto.

 

Karmela 1 – a cult place with a delightful sea-view terrace, ideal for a lazy afternoon lounging. With an interesting interior made of natural materials, Karmela 1 is a perfect stop for a morning coffee because theirs is the best in town.

 

Karmela 2 – When the sun goes down, all locals and guests go to K2 where they can enjoy music, concerts, dance or play billiards and table football. K2 offers a very relaxed atmosphere with a real summer vibe. While kids are at a nearby nursery, parents, couples, surfers and grandparents can enjoy a refreshing juice, cocktail or a glass of fine wine.

 

Pelješac:

 

Lovište – Trumbeta tavern: Don’t be fooled by the modest interior of its seafront terrace because here they serve a freshly caught fish, which requires nothing more than a good grill and a glass of fine wine and olive oil.

 

Ston – Situated on the Mali Ston waterfront, in a house that once belonged to the Mali Ston Guard Captain, restaurant Kapetanova kuća is widely known for its specialties. Lidija Kralj, manager and owner, awarded chef of the year in 2005, is known for her black risotto, Dusky Grouper and Lobster brodetto and famous ‘Stonski makaruni’ (cake made of pasta). All Pelješac wines are stored in a huge wine cellar.

 

Wine road – with numerous wine cellars, rural households and taverns where you can eat and drink a glass of some of famous Pelješac wines. Plavac Mali is one of the most prominent indigenous grape varieties (a genetic connection to sorts Zinfandel and Primitivo has been scientifically proven), and its renowned wines Dingač and Postup, which are the first two Croatian protected wines, are widely produced on the Pelješac peninsula. The road runs through picturesque villages Ponikve (Franković, Miloš and Vukas wineries), Putnikovići (Wine Museum), Drače (Dalmatinska kuća Tavern), Janjina (Domanoeta Tavern, Potomje (Madirazza, Dingač and Matuško, Skaramuča and Miličić wineries), Prizdrina (Bartulović winery), and many of them prepare meat and fish under the peka (iron bell), if given advance notice. There is also a famous Grgić winery in Trstenik, a donkey farm at Antunović household in Kuna where you can buy donkey milk (by the deciliter), known for its healing properties.

 

Korčula:


Adio Mare Restaurant is situated in Korčula Town, and it requires reservations in advance. Lešić Dmitri palace has a restaurant for those looking for an exclusive dining experience. There are many other restaurants and bars within the walls of Korčula. It is worth mentioning that Pošip, an indigenous white grape variety from Korčula, thrives best in the Čara and Smokvica region, and is used in the production of the widely known quality white wines.
